Interview with Caprice Palmer, Owner and Designer of Enchanted Florist
1. How long has Enchanted Florist been in business?
16 years, the past 5 as strictly a wedding and events florist
2. How did you get started as a Florist?
A friend of mine owned a florist and his designer quit suddenly and he came to me and asked if I would try it, I did and I loved it!
3. What is your favorite thing about being a Florist?
Seeing the huge smile on my bride’s face and hearing her say, “it’s better than I ever imagined”
4. What is the craziest/most interesting thing someone has asked you to create for a wedding?
We had to build a houppa out of tree branches and logs, for a Cheekwood wedding….it turned out GREAT.
5. What are your favorite flowers?
I really don’t have a favorite, it changes all the time. I do have a soft spot for peonies. My Grandmother grew them, and I just love how they look and they always remind me of her.
6. What is one of the coolest flowers that people do not know about?
Gloriosa Lily. It is really unusual looking, but such a cool unexpected flower.
7. If a bride does not know anything about flowers, where should she go to start looking and getting ideas for her wedding?
I love google image search. You can type in anything and instantly start getting ton’s of ideas. Wedding magazines and books are also very helpful. If you really start to look and gather ideas, your style will start to show up.
8. What advice would you give brides as they start planning for their wedding?
Have FUN!! Do your research first. This will help you to be much more confident when you meet with your vendors AND choose the vendors you feel the most comfortable with. If you love your vendor when you meet them and feel good at your consultation, then you will feel a lot more relaxed about your wedding day.
