In case you have been wondering who has been posting these last several months. I think it is time to put a face to the name. Let me introduce myself, my name is Stefanie Delinois.
Here is a little bit about me:
I grew up in beautiful town of Pensacola, Florida. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks & Tourism with a Minor in Event Management and Business Administration. During college I interned at a number of places, but it was working for Southern Wedding Magazine that I first realized my love for planning & designing weddings.
After graduating, I worked for a florist named Fiore of Pensacola, where my love of design work and knowledge of flowers increased, until I got married to a wonderful man named Pierre Delinois. In a whirlwind of change, we moved to Nashville just two short weeks after being married, so that my husband could attend Graduate school at Vanderbilt. Since being in Nashville, I have worked for Something Blue as well as working full time as an Event Supervisor for the Nashville City Club, further increasing my knowledge of the Food and Beverage side of events.
I believe that the greatest strengths I bring are:
Planning- the ability to take all the components of an idea and create a manageable path in which to follow, seeing the details and the big picture, organizing all resources: time, people, tasks, etc.
Creativity: the ability to create and synthesizing, utilizing the resources that one has, seeing beyond the norm, researching ideas.
Communication: understanding the client and their vision for their event, problem solving with a variety of personalities in high stress situations, articulating my vision and ideas to the client and vendors.
My philosophy on events, “… is that every event has a personality- and my goal is to use all of the details to create a focused personalized event that really showcases the bride and groom.” I cannot wait to see how my time in Nashville unfolds working for Something Blue!
